What Is Appendix U?

 

Appendix U, adopted by the International Code Council in 2023, provides a standardized path  to code compliance for open cell spray foam used in unvented attics with a downward  opening hatch. Systems that pass this test do not require an ignition barrier such as intumescent  coatings.
